Lara wins with VfL Wolfsburg away to 1.FFC Frankfurt (with video's)

VfL Wolfsburg have won the top game of matchday five in the Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga.

After the 0-0 in Serbia on Thursday 8th October 2015 against Spartak Subotica VfL Wolfsburg scored already after four minutes away to 1.FFC Frankfurt, the holders of the UWCL who started the game with maximum of points without having conceeded a goal in any competition yet. It was local defender Peggy Kuznik who deviated unfortunately a cross from Hungarian forward Zsanett Jakabfi into her own goal (0-1, 4th minute). Seven minutes before half time Lena Goessling doubled the score with a wonderful strike into the topcorner of the goal (0-2, 38th minute). In the second half Almuth Schult, the goalkeeper of the 'Wölfinnen', held a penalty from Yuki Ogimi (48th minute). The score stayed 0-2 for VfL Wolfsburg who are with 10 points now closing in on the leaders as Bayern Munich also lost their first points of the season drawing 1-1 away to FF USV Jena.  Bayern Munich still leads the Bundesliga with 13 points now, 1.FFC Frankfurt is second with 12 units while VfL Wolfsburg is third with 10 points together with Hoffenheim. Lara Dickenmann played 76 minutes in the Brentanobad Stadium  before being substituted by Verena Faisst.

This Wednesday 14th October 2015 VfL Wolfsburg plays at home against Spartak Subotica in the return leg of the first round of the UWCL with kick off at 17h in the AOK-Stadium in Wolfsburg. The next game in the Bundesliga is on Sunday 18th October 2015 at home against Sand with kick off at 14h.
