VfL Wolfsburg end the year with surprising home defeat! (with video)

VfL Wolfsburg has ended the year 2015 with a surprising home defeat on matchday 12 in the Bundesliga.


Visitors FF USV Jena, who lost on the opening day of the season with 0-8 against VfL Wolfsburg, took the lead on Saturday 19th December 2015 with an early goal from Lucie Vonkova (0-1, 11th minute). Just before the hour Amber Hearn scored a second goal for Jena (0-2, 57th minute) that only  conceeded a penalty in the remaining time of the game scored by Lena Goessling (1-2, 66th minute). Lara Dickenmann who played the full game couldn't score the equaliser.


The defeat gave Bayern Munich the possibility to take a bigger lead in the Bundesliga as they won 0-2 away to Turbine Potsdam. Bayern Munich now has 34 points while VfL Wolfsburg only has 22. 1.FFC Frankfurt who already lost on Friday 18th December 2015 away to SGS Essen 3-2 is also on 22 points but with a worse goal difference than VfL Wolfsburg.


The other results bon the last matchday before New Year were 1.FC Köln vs Werder Bremen 2-2, Bayer 04 Leverkuesen - SC Sand 0-0 and Hoffenheim - SC Freiburg 2-0.


On Matchday 13 after the winter break VfL Wolfsburg play an away game in Bremen against Werder normally on Sunday 14th Februari 2016 at 14h.
